Education and Outreach
KAFSC hosts free seminars and workshops to meet the needs of the Korean American community in Los Angeles. Topics include financial issues, parenting education, stress management, communication skills, family crisis prevention, and conflict resolution. KAFSC also works closely with local churches, schools, and other community organizations to provide on-site presentations on current issues. Please visit this website frequently for ‘Upcoming Events’, or contact us if you are interested in arranging an event at your desirable venue.
Readiness for School
The Readiness for School Program (R4S) helps Korean-American parents and their children experience a smooth transition into the US public school system. Through a series of field trips, seminars, and other workshops, parents and their children learn what to expect at school and how the Los Angeles Unified School District works. KAFSC arranges for school principals, fire fighters, police officers, red cross volunteers, and other experts to provide special presentations on topics like school enrollment procedures, kindergarten preparedness, safety classes, and stranger awareness.
