Project Fatherhood (KAFSC & YNOT)

KAFSC is partnering with Young Nak Outreach and Transformation (YNOT) Foundation, the community arm of the Young Nak Presbyterian Church, to help Korean fathers engage more actively in their children’s lives, using the “Project Fatherhood” model created by Children’s Institute, Inc. Studies show that the presence of nurturing fathers reduces many negative outcomes for children.

Through therapy, support, parenting education and other services, fathers learn to be more loving, responsible parents and active participants in their children’s lives. While fathers attend group sessions together, significant others and children hold their own separate group sessions during the same hours. This joint venture represents the first time Project Fatherhood has been implemented specifically in the Korean American community.

Project Fatherhood classes are held every Wednesday from 7 – 9 pm at the YNOT Foundation office at Young Nak Church, 1721 N. Broadway, LA, CA 90031. The program is free to participants.
