Korean American Family Service Center, on the 29th will be giving out items of donation and will be holding a Parent seminar class.
“In the community where love is received, we should give back the love”
The long recession has put the community under a shade. In hope to use love to illuminate the light of hope. The Hope Campaign has begun.

Koreans victims of family violence prevention services for low-income families and families. The Dong il-sponsored conference is on Jan. 29 at 10am (3727 W. 6th St. # 320) this will be the beginning of KAFSC’s “2011 Spread the Love Campaign.”

This event is sponsored by Dong-il USA, (President Park Jin Gyu) who has delivered to their community service organizations “Gifts of love” to the estranged neighbors of the community. They have donated to the events, glass containers, jeans, and blankets. Also the Holy City USA’s “The rice from love” campaign which includes 20 bags of rice, CGV movie tickets and a variety of baked goods from Paris Baguette of 10 boxes have been donated in support of the  low-income domestic violence victims’ families. These donations will be given out to 70 families by the Korean American Family Service Center/

Connie Joe the Director at KAFSC has said “The love that we have received, we have wanted to give it back to the domestic violence victims’ and their families and to single parent households.” “This campaign that we are starting up is for that purpose and hope to give back the love that we have received all these years.”

The event is not just a charity event, a parent education seminar has been prepared, and while the parents are participating in the seminar, a fun program has been prepared for the children.

The seminar’s topic will be how to converse and still have a relationship with your family through your busy lifestyle. A variety of games are planned to strengthen the relationship between parents and their children.

“This campaign is an ongoing drive, rather than ending with a one-time event. We hope the Korean community will be interested and we ask for your support.

Korean American Family Service Center (Executive Director Connie Chung Joe) on the 29th of January launched its “Jump Up with Hope” Campaign. There were 80 Korean Americans who attended this successful takeoff.

This event was to help the families who have been struggling during this long recession. The gifts were donated by Dooil USA (Executive Direcot Park Jin Gyu), and the items were handed out during this campaign. The items varied from blankets, glassware, socks and 20 bags of rice donate from “The Rice from Love” campaign. Movie tickets from CGV were also provided through donations. Counselor and the Manager of the Counseling Department Kyung Hee Kim held a Healthy Parent Seminar to help parents have a better relationship with their children.

KAFSC’s Event Coordinator Kim So Rim quoted “As the New Year has begun, we wanted to plant the seed of Hope in families, this event was to provide happiness and a time for the family to get together and create a closer bond with each other.”

On this day, while the parents were attending the Parenting Seminar, the children were making balloons and playing games. Jung Kun Oh, a Laughter Therapist and Volunteers taught and aided the children in making flower and dog shaped balloons. The parents joined their children and through the laughter therapist spent time laughing and bonding with their family members.

Jung Kun Oh, lead the family in recreation activities and time for the family to laugh and to free their minds. Paris Baguette Bakery donated pastry as snacks during the event. After the event, gifts were handed out to the participants, which included over 30 Korean Families. The families left the event with a smile on their face.
