Most of us at KAFSC know that the Korean culture is immersed in respect – especially towards our elders. Some of us have even grown up in households that practiced this everyday, always putting the elders before the young. Not to say that this way of life is wrong and unethical, but KAFSC cannot be more happier to be a part of a new culture: the Office of Victims for Crimes’ Defending the Childhood Campaign.
On June 24, 2011, the Korean American Family Services came out on top for pitching a successful business proposal that plans on assisting Korean speaking parents to have successful court-ordered visits. Winning $2,500 for KAFSC and for all struggling Korean parents everywhere, KAFSC trumped other zealous organizations such as, the Human Services Associations and the SPIRITT Family Services for the competition that ran for 6 months! Not only did KAFSC win a much deserved recognition for its amazing team and idea, but it also turned the heads of First 5 L.A. towards hard working Korean speaking parents everywhere. Congratulations KAFSC!
KAFSC offers Yoga classes every Monday from 10 – 11:30am and Thursdays from 1 – 2:30pm!
